Meet Our Team

Rosa Wiess, 
Enrolled Agent and Owner


Rosa began her tax career with H&R Block back in 1999. She quickly grew in her tax knowledge and was soon teaching upper division tax courses in small business, investments and retirement. She spent several years as an office manager and obtained her Enrolled Agent designation in 2011. In October of 2012, Rosa left HRB & created Clear Choice Tax Services. She is passionate about small businesses, and advocates for her clients by educating & assisting them with businesses formation & entity questions along with helping them understand both their Federal & state tax obligations. She views tax preparation as a puzzle, and enjoys helping taxpayers create a beautiful picture whereby they can receive the biggest refund (or lowest tax liability) legally possible.  


Rosa has 4 daughters, 2 granddaughters and one grandson.  Always active, she enjoys time with friends & family, movies, music and cruising!  While she is knowledgeable and professional, we guarantee you won't find her intimidating - which is why Clear Choice Tax Services is the Clear Choice.

                 Shari Pope
       Senior Tax Professional

Shari obtained her cosmetology instructor's license at SCC and was an owner/operator of several hair salons up until 2018. 

She has always had a passion for numbers and challenges. Early on she took accounting classes through WSU. In 1999 Shari began her career with H&R Block. While there, she took worked as a tax professional, instructor and office manager.  With 20 years of experience  Shari was the go-to person for all things taxes. 

Shari has expertise in a wide range of tax issues, most notably kiddie tax, military tax returns, estate taxes, tribal income, and farms.  She holds an AFTR certification which allows her to prepare taxes and represent her clients with the IRS. She is bound by circular 230 rules.

Shari thrives on getting the largest legal refund for her clients and she genuinely cares for them.  

She was a single mother for eight years, then married her loving husband Ken. Together they raised five children. They now have a bus load of grandchildren and great grandchildren who are the highlight of their lives.

Shari’s family, friends, and faith are very important to her. She spends a lot of time camping, white water rafting, cruising, and hanging out at the lake.

             Deseret Linehan
      Administrative Assistant/            Assistant Account Manager

Deseret can be found supporting many different roles throughout our office. She is learning bookkeeping, account management and payroll under one of our Senior Account Managers.  She can also be found at the front desk of our tax office as the receptionist answering phones, setting appointments and providing excellent customer service.  You may hear from her when she calls to confirm your appointment.   

Deseret is very helpful and always willing to learn something new. She makes life interesting for all of us by providing a great sense of humor and an always fresh perspective.  She is a great addition to our team here at CCTS and we are happy to have her. 

              Kathy Henthorn              Office Manager

Kathy comes to Clear Choice Tax Services (CCTS) with a background in Tax Preparation, Client Service and Management.  Most recently she managed multiple H & R Block locations in the Spokane area and had more than 20 years with that company. 

Prior to joining H & R Block, she worked for both US Bank Corporation and Davidson Trust Company, a Division of D.A. Davidson, Inc. as a Fiduciary Tax Specialist and in Trust Administration. She was responsible for preparing Individual Income Tax Returns and Fiduciary Tax Returns for Trusts and Estates as well as maintaining ongoing relationships with trust clients.  

She is working as a Business Formation Specialist, here at CCTS, as well as taking on the role of Office Manager.

Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from EWU with majors in Management and Finance and a minor in Communications. She completed her degree work while working and raising  3 boys.

She is a proud mom of 3 amazing young men,  numerous "bonus" children and grandma of 7. 

Kathy is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for clients while continually improving her skills and expanding her knowledge base, in order to be a valuable member of the CCTS team.

               Elaine Vivit
           Tax Professional

Before working at Clear Choice Tax Services, she worked for H & R Block on and off for 18 years. It was in the late 70’s when she started, and all taxes were prepared by hand. From 2016 to 2019 she worked as a receptionist.  She took a series of refresher classes in 2019 to bring herself up to date on the tax changes.

While she was working for HRB she had a fulltime job at Shriners Hospitals for Children. She worked in the accounting department and did Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.  After 19 years at the Hospital she retired in May of 2015.   Since 1974 she has also worked at the Ridpath Hotel, B & B Oil Company, Eugene Flowers, and St. Brenden’s.

Besides reading and putting together puzzles, her favorite hobby is completing her bucket list. In the last few years she has swam with the dolphins in Cabo and the stingrays in Grand Cayman, rode the giant Ferris wheel in Myrtle Beach, held an alligator in Florida and finally went zip lining in Whistler British Columbia. Needless to say; she also loves to travel.

She enjoys working with people and with numbers. She looks forward to being of service and helping you with your tax needs.

Dat recently graduated Eastern Washington University with a Business Administration, Accounting degree. We are excited to add him to a part of our team. 

Dat loves both the outdoors and hiking, as well as gaming with friends. 

Jeanette Rentzschke
Senior Account Manager/Bookkeeper

Jeanette started her accounting career with The Crescent as the Administrative Assistant to the CFO/CPA for 10 years and completed a bookkeeping class at Spokane Community College.  She continued her education by attending classes put on by the American Payroll Association (APA) and received multiple certifications while working in the following fields: Retail, Manufacturing, Engineering/Research & Development, Non-Profit and Medical Field. 


Jeanette has experience in Full Charge Bookkeeping; which include payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, taxes, payments, account and bank reconciliations.  Here at Clear Choice Tax Services, Inc. Jeanette excels at working with the Construction Industry, HealthCare Clients, Non-profit that include Condo and Homeowner Association(s). She likes the details and excels at “ticking & tying” for our customers that have bookkeeping needs and is a stickler for details and loves it when those numbers balance.  She has set-up multiple new companies worked on multiple payroll conversions.  She has had the opportunity to administer employee benefits from On Boarding to Reduction in Staff that included Workers Compensation, DOSH/OSHA, Vacation, Sick, Union Dues, Severance pay, SEP, IRA's, 401K's and HCRA while working in Accounting and Human Resources.


She enjoys traveling within in the United Stated and Africa to visit family and friends and has kept the books for the Inland Northwest Chapter of the APA for over 10 years.  Over the years she has volunteered for Bloomsday and loves to meet new people she can serve.

                 Lani Laganowski

Lani works in our billing department, assists with updating website information, and projects as needed.

Lani is currently working on obtaining her Real Estate License.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management,  and her undergrad is in Computer Networking.

Her recent work experience was 2 years as an Outcomes Data Analysis. Previously she worked in IT for 11 years; as a bookkeeper for 15 years; worked as a tax preparer 11 years.

Her and her husband enjoy traveling on their motorcycles.

              Steve Watilo
                Tax Preparer 

Steve studied accounting at Eastern Washington University from 1974 to 1978 then went into the floor covering business, managing stores from 1980-2005.  A heart attack changed his career path, bringing him back to his love of numbers. He then went back to school, finished his BA, and went on to get a masters degree in Accounting in 2018.  Steve prepared taxes at Jackson Hewitt for 4 years and has done several accounting positions, the most recent being for Anson & Avery.  Steve enjoys helping people receive their largest refund legally possible!  

Steve has 4 sons, 4 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.  Always active, he enjoys time playing golf, talking on his ham radio and travelling with his wife.  Steve & Sue have been married for 45 years!
